A month of patches in one box

The 8-Patch Box is the larger of the two Oxytrol for Women boxes. Inside are 8 sealed pouches with one patch in each. You open a pouch only when you are ready to apply the patch.

At one patch every 4 days, the box lasts 32 days. It is sold in packs of 2, 3 or 6 boxes. The more boxes in a pack, the longer you go between orders.

The patch itself is the same one that sits in the 4-Patch Box: oxybutynin, 3.9 mg a day, for women 18 and older with overactive bladder.

Know before you buy

Every pack of this box holds at least 16 patches, more than two months of wear. That is a lot to buy if you have never worn the patch. The label says to stop and ask a doctor if nothing improves after 2 weeks, so a first-time buyer is better served by one 4-patch box.

How to wear the patch

  1. Open 1 pouch and apply patch immediately to a clean, dry and smooth area of skin on your abdomen, hips or buttocks. Do not put the patch on oily, damaged (cut or scraped), or irritated (rashes) skin. Do not put the patch on skin with oils, lotions or powders because that could keep the patch from sticking to your skin.

  2. Wear patch under clothing, do not expose the patch to sunlight.

  3. Do not cut the patch into smaller pieces.

  4. Wear only 1 patch at a time for 4 days in a row.

  5. After 4 days, remove the used patch and apply a new one.

  6. Change the patch every 4 days for as long as you use this product.

  7. Each time you put on a new patch, change the place where you put it (i.e., abdomen, hips or buttocks).

  8. If a patch falls off and you cannot press it back onto your skin, use a new patch.

  9. When you take off a used patch, fold it in half with the sticky sides together.

  10. Throw it away so that it cannot be worn or swallowed by another person, especially a child, or a pet.

Three places are named on the label

  • Hips
  • Buttocks

    Great for international travel

I use these when traveling internationally where public toilets are hard to find. I am 67 and have a bit of urgency that this controls.

    Stopped frequent urination

They helped stop my need to go to the bathroom every 2 hours. Now I only need to go 3-6, usually 4 hours. My urologist was so happy they work. They really stay on in the shower.

BUYER BEWARD - SAVE YOUR MONEY...DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS CHEAP, INEFFECTIVE PATCH.

I have used this product when it was available at CVS. was happy to find it again. of course it now costs triple the price. i was happy to get a supply bundle but i am so very disappointed in the quality. i'm not sure if it's the plastic or the adhesive. it used to be a total pain to peel the patch off at the 4 day mark. now i'm lucky if this sticks for a day. the patch does not stay on even if i use medical tape to try and hold it. therefore the patch is useless and a total waste of my money. and i'm back to square one with no relief from OAB. I do apply to dry, clean, lotion free skin as i have always done, i do alternate placement. there was never an issue until i got this particular batch. looks like i won't be buying again anytime soon.

Want so badly to use this product

The product is amazing! Just a couple of days with the patch and I had less frequency and less urgency due to bladder spasms. Within two weeks I slept thru the night. Normally I'm up to the bathroom 4 to 5 times every night. The one draw back with this product is that the adherent on the patch caused severe contact dermatitis for me with red, raised rash and "pimples" wherever I wore the patch.

    How effective is Oxytrol...

I have used Oxytrol for a number of years with success. However, they changed the quality of the plastic used for applying the patch to the skin and this has resulted in poor to nil effectiveness. This new heavier plastic patch does not stay on, with in a day or two the adhesive is no longer holding the patch on. I have tried using additional tape around the edges, but it still lifts from the skin and no longer gives any relief from overactive bladder. I am applying it to clean dry skin with no oils or lotion on my skin, exactly as I have for years when it was a thinner plastic patch and was effective. I never had any issues with the old thinner patch falling off or not being ineffective. I should probably give it 0 stars but in the past before the change in quality of the plastic the patch had given some relief.

    Pretty Effective

These were recommended to me by my physician. At first I thought they were awesome but after about a month they didn’t seem as effective as they were at first. I’ll keep using them and see how it goes.
